Dev D : The Modern Day Devdas finally Released
Devdas, which was the novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay in the 1917. Over the years almost every movie based on this novel has rocked the Indian cinema. Now again we are going to see a movie based on the classic novel, the movie is entitled Dev D, a modern day devdas which has total new view given by the director of the flick, Anurag Kashyap under the UTV productions.
The movie is having Abhay Deol in lead role as Devdas and newcomer Mahi Gill as Paro. The plot of the movie is, Dev (Abhay Deol) is the son of a rich Punjabi Businessman. He and Paro (Mahi Gill) are childhood sweethearts. However, Dev shuns Paro after he hears rumours of her alleged affairs with other men. Dev goes to Delhi while Paro is married off to a rich widower. In Delhi, Devdas meets the prostitute Chanda (Kalki) but despite an apparent emotional connection, remorse drives him to excesses.
The movie hit the boxoffice on 06 Feb, 2009. But the bottleneck for the movie is that, there will be no emotional atyachaar in the multiplexes because of the differences between the film’s producer, UTV and multiplex owners over profit sharing.

Dev D is a very contemporary modern film which happened to be based on the novel Devdas. However there are more dissimilarities between the film and the novel than there are similarities. I can assure that watching This film would become quite an experience for cine goers…
